The Man Behind Rainbow — & How It All Began
The story of Rainbow Confectioners & Bakers is nothing short of legendary. Established in 1954 by the visionary Irshad Ali Khan, this heritage bakery is the oldest in Rampur — setting the standard for quality and excellence in confectionery and baked delights.
He was no ordinary man — he was a pioneer. He traveled abroad to master European culinary artistry, multi-cuisine techniques, and professional baking. What he returned with was more than just knowledge — it was a passion to revolutionize the local bakery scene.
Upon his return, he founded Rainbow Confectioners & Bakers, bringing with him authentic French-style Danish cookies, buttery shortbreads, designer cakes, and more. These were treats Rampur had never seen before. His creations became instant classics — particularly the Rainbow Butter Cookies, which remain a hallmark of the bakery to this day.
👑 Such was his reputation that Irshad Ali Khan was invited by the royal household of Rampur (Nawab) to craft desserts for exclusive royal events — including a show-stopping birthday cake modelled after the iconic Khasbagh Palace.
Today, Rainbow Confectioners & Bakers proudly carries forward this legacy — combining tradition, taste and timeless craftsmanship. With over 70 years of continuous service, we are not just a bakery.
